Hoka One One shoes
« on: August 20, 2014, 06:25:20 PM »
My feet have been hurting for really long time due to the hours at work spent on my feet.  Turns out I have a nice heel spur.

A friend of mine runs marathons and works with me who swears by Hoka One One shoes. I just bought a pair of their Stinson ATR which should be at my house tomorrow. Anyone else use these shoes? What's your opinion on these?

Have you ever tried "superfeet" inserts?  They are hard inserts for your shoes. They work really well.  I use the orange ones in my work boots. I'm pretty sure they help with lower back problems.

I have and actually use them in my ski boots. Funny you mentioned those because I was thinking of a set for the new Hokas. I use the red ones in my boots.

Hahahahaa! I have no control over that. Unless someone phones in a bomb threat.

Not bad. I've gone through a dozen or so shoes in the last year trying to get a solution for this. So far my Asics GT 2000 and my Brooks beast are most helpful but not totally perfect.

I have not tried the Hokas but as a fellow heel spur sufferer I would advise you against going with a very soft shoe. I did this and it actually made the problem worse. The Hoka shoe has a money back guarantee so I would say give them a try. Be aware that the design of them requires you to change the way you run.
I am a long-time Asics guy and have been wearing the GT series shoes since 1984. They still are my favorite.
