Why they recommending PRK?  Is this instead of lasic?  Is your cornea to thin for regular lasoc?

Because I had Lasik done about 17 years ago and need a tuneup.

Did you have PRK originally?  If you had regular lasic before, I don't get why they'd do PRK now. Unless there is not enough cornea thickness. But if that's the case, other issues could come up like keratoconus which you want no part of.  Ask your eye dr if there is an increase of chance of that. If so, stay away, far away.

Same here. Eyes have been going south over the last few years. I'm not going to have surgery again. I'm back to contacts and some prescription sunglasses. Contacts aren't bad for riding. Daily contacts and just toss em.

Is PRK the process where they abraid your eye with an electric toothbrush? Yeah I had that. The procedure and recovery were not easy. Absolutely 100% wish I had lasik.
My right eye was corrected and my vision improved but is not perfect. Should have had the left eye corrected a little as well, even though I can see out of 9/10. MX needs perfect vision, just ask Weston.

PRK is a great surgery, I got nothing against it, my only question is why is it recommended now when he originally had lasic. If it's because cornea thickness, there's other questions he needs to ask his doctor. Debilitating vision problems can result.

I had RK back in 1994 and my eyes were great until last year.My right eye went to 20/170 and my riding suffered. Because of the scar tissue associated with RK I could not do Lasik and had to do PRK. I'm about 60 days from surgery on my right eye and I'm at 20/40. It's not perfect, but I can see the track and am starting to have fun again.
Getting my life back was worth it. The recovery for PRK is a little longer, but not a big deal. Entire procedure took 5 minutes.

PRK (spoke cuts)are mostly done when you have a bad astigmatism.
