Sad deal. I loved that place since the 1st time I raced there in 1989... bummer to see it close. Lots of fun days spent there later with the crew.

So Sunrise became Racetown 395, but didnt it go back to the name Sunrise before it closed?
What was the one off the 15 a little further north? VMC? Dont think I ever rode there but it looked really good.
VMC. Broke my arm there and cut my radial nerve. Lost the use of my hand for 2 years until I got lucky and found a doctor that did a tendon transfer surgery.

Only bummer of the day was when Pat Lavespere got hauled away in the ambulance. Heal up soon!
Pat is doing good. No broken bones and scans came out clean. In a next brace for a few days just as a pre caution.

The Place / Re: GH with SoCal Vet MX (OTMX) today - Sunday 1/7/24
« on: January 07, 2024, 09:26:04 PM »Cold and Windy, and it had rained a bit around midnight or so. But at least it was sunny. The track seemed kind of iffy and muddy at first, which it was in some places. But John and the GH crew had done a great job with the prep. After the last practice John went out on the bulldozer and cleaned up a couple of trouble spots and the track was great for racing. Had a good turnout and no bad spills so it was a great day overall.
I'll see if I can get my video up. Video looks good on my computer, but because of the extra compression youtube adds, it never looks right.
By the way, I think Racer Ray was trying his impression of Jason Anderson, as when I was flying by him, and there was a lot of "backside" skin showing!!
Anyway, fun times for sure.
Yeah new pants are a little big. It was bugging me that whole moto.

I’ll go with Jett, but I do see Dylan Ferrandis being a top 3 guy on that Honda. Rozen, Hunter, Cooper, Tomac, Barcia and Sexton top 5 guys. We will also see if it’s the bike or bike setup when Sexton tucks the front wheel.
