MX tech talk / Air Filter & Oil Question...
« on: December 04, 2011, 05:21:11 PM »
So what's the preferred brand of filter and filter oil?

I had a K&N on my last 450, wasn't impressed and I have a NoToil wash/oil/rim grease kit, probably use that stuff up meanwhile unless there is a better wash and oil system around?

Thanks in advance!

What do you drive?  A soccer mom mini van?  Or do you have ape hangers on your bike?  My bike fits in my van with plenty of room.

2007 Chevy G3500 Express Soccer Mom Mega Van. Apes, of course, duh!!

Did you find that discount code?!

MX tech talk / Holeshot device for hauling in a van?
« on: November 28, 2011, 07:44:48 PM »
I originally bought my van for surf trips, and although its carpeted with A/C, I'd like to be able to put my bike inside from time to time so I don't have to haul it with a hitch hauler or solo in my trailer. Problem is...my bike is about 6 inches to tall, to clear the rear A/C vents. My friend mentioned that I'd probably be able to use a holeshot device to hold the forks down just long enough to get it inside the van and secure the bike with tie-downs.

Anyone ever try this?

Also, is anyone making front tire holders for vans that clip into the bench seat mounts in the floor? Or did I just give away my million dollar idea?!!

You would be safer on the main track , your not that bad of a rider to be on the vet

I ride the main mostly, the friend that I was there with tends to stay on the vet more...
I was in the same boat Zeke. Plus the cold meds I was on I just wasn't feeling the main. I had a blast watching all the carnage I saw at least three good get offs.

Wait, you're Rob? I thought you said your were RLmxracer? Opps!

MX tech talk / Re: Radiator straightening
« on: November 24, 2011, 01:11:29 PM »
i think the most common guy for that is Fontana radaitor repair, could be wrong on the name tho
http://www.fontanaradiator.com/
I had them do one for me that I thought could not be saved. They fixed it so good I almost thought it was not the one I dropped off. I think I paid $40 but that was several years ago.

I'm terrible with names but the owner of Fontana Radiator really helped me on with my CRF, he actually did same day service on my left radiator, there was only a small crack, but he welded them up top and bottom for the same price!!

He's also a Flat Track BAD ASS!!

Here's a photo oh him at the San Jose Mile ( No. 37R )

I want to say I've heard you guys talk about swapping a CRF style self locking rear axle nut on a KXF to replace the dumb castle nut / cotter pin set up?

Thanks in advance!!
