That's your problem Joe.. Your looking for a reward?

The only reward Iím looking for is the joy of riding and racing, and it just isnít there anymore.

Done with Mammoth and MX just part time. Mammoth is just way too much expense, time and prep for so little time on the track. Getting up stupid early really takes the fun out of it for me; get enough of that at work. Investment is just simply not worth the small amount of fun yielded in return for me.

Cut way back on moto in general. Itís not the expense. The risk is not worth the reward. I can mitigate the risk from myself, but have no control over track conditions and especially other riders. 99.8% of you are great to race with, and share a track with.  I really enjoy cycling and mountain biking and running.  I do more of all 3 than I ever have before in my life. All 3 are easy to do. I can just jam out my front door and go. Every time I go out the door to do any of those activities I am reminded of the risks of moto, especially if itís a recent injury.

Still love the sport more than any other and watch and go to SX and outdoors. Just not participating as much.

Fresh photos available.

Wow, would be great to re-open that track.

Had some great times there from 2004 - 2009.

Loved the night riding after work.
03-09. Track layout and prep were some of the best Iíve seen to date. Redo at 2 pm every day. Used to take the kids straight after school. It was like a moto country club back then. Everything was perfect.

1 ton dual wheel, long wheelbase high roof Mercedes Sprinter moto van. The 1 ton dualists are not available from the factory with ďCrewĒ option. This van came with other cargo options like inner panels and floor rails for adjustable cargo hooks. We had an outfitter ad the 2nd row bench, tinted side windows with opening subsections, and rear windows. We also added 2 Risk Racing LockíNíLoads in the rear. Tons of extra room between rear bench and bikes to carry extra gear or sleep or whatever.

This was also one of the last years to have the larger 3.0 V6 Bluetec diesel which they just returned to.

Van is in excellent, like new, condition.

Very Low Miles. Only 33k

MX tech talk / Re: 12 KTM 150SX Weak Spark
« on: September 12, 2014, 09:00:09 AM »
Dudes this is beyond funny.  I was flaming that other dude a bit for the old banana/potato in the tailpipe. After pulling the plug and regapping and checking spark, all while draining the fuel, i through it back in.  No start. Pulled the plug again and it was soaked!  Then I thought to myself its like the choke is on. F'ing Duh!  Then thought about the bike wont start thread and ding light went off. Pulled the fresh clean air filter and voila, not one , but two rags.  OMG!

Fired the bike up after 3 months with fresh fuel. It ran fir about 10 seconds then died.

Pulled the plug and it was soaked. Cleaned it up and checked spark before throwing it back in; it was very weak.

Pulled the left side cover off ignition area.  There was some light corrosion in there from moisture getting in that area, but nothing really bad.

Going to pull the seat next and check all the ignition connections.  Also going to check the coil.  Not a coil in cap style, 2 stroke, so i can probably pull the one off my 250SX.

Any other ideas?

Training and Fitness / Re: ACL Recovery
« on: August 19, 2014, 08:44:41 PM »
3 ACLs and a 4th surgery to clean up. Range of motion exercises and cycling are key.  If you have access to a pool swimming is awesome for range of motion as you cannot over stress the repair and it very low impact on the joint.  It also depends on how bad your knee is and the amount and type of damage.  My first 2 recoveries were quick and easy.  3rd was quick and easy too and progressing like first 2, but something happened while I was running.  It wasn't anything weird like a slip or twist or anything, but I lost range of motion and I felt a light resisting pop when extending.  Also had chronic swelling after.  That was the reason for the 4th surgery.  Doc cleaned up the restrictive pop, but still have the chronic swelling and restricted range of motion to this day.

Tokyo Mods told us not to run Avgas in our bikes, especially the 2 strokes as it would break down the gaskets.  100LL will be going away in the near future anyway.  The EPA is making them get rid of the lead entirely.  They have 8 alternative unleaded fuels they will start testing at the end of the month.
