The Place / SoCal OTMX and OTHG @ LACR on Sunday 6/30
« on: June 23, 2019, 04:38:42 PM »
OTHG will be at LACR on Sunday, 6/30 and SoCal OTMX will be joining them. The racing will be on the main track.

Come on out and race with either club, or better yet, race with both clubs and get a full 4 motos in!!

The long range weather is showing a high of 97, with around 87 at race start. So if you are planning to go, don't forget to hydrate properly. There is plenty of info out there on the web about proper hydration.

The Place / Speaking of red sticker...
« on: June 21, 2019, 08:19:32 PM »
So, as I stated before, I was actually pissed that my 2019 Honda TRX250x quad is a red sticker quad when the 2018, which is exactly the same, has a green sticker. Yeah, that was my bad, but also blame the dealer for not disclosing this little fact!!  :?

Well, Yamaha came out with their new 2019 WR450F, but it's also a red sticker bike!! Something to do with the evaporative canister and although this bike is supposed to have a green sticker, due to that issue which had not been resolved as the bike came to market, you might be buying a red stickered bike.

So if you are in the market for one, don't assume that it is a green sticker bike. Maybe the issue has been resolved by now, but be sure to ask the dealer, and have it in writing that you can return it and get a full refund if it's not a green sticker bike.

See you there.

Going to go do some laps in the morning, parking by the parts store.

The Place / So 3 fuel filters on my '15 Husky
« on: June 11, 2019, 04:59:49 PM »
So there is a fuel filter and a fuel screen on the fuel pump inside the tank and one inline tiny filter on the hose from the tank to the FI. WTF!! Guess is better than getting crap inside the FI unit.

Actually, it wasn't too bad replacing the filters, but you do need something to crimp the hose clamps for the big pump filter inside the tank (yes, you take the whole pump unit out of the tank to work on it). I was lucky, as I already had a Pex crimping tool that worked fine. Overall about maybe an hour because I did some other cleaning since I had the tank off.

But, no matter how good your battery is, after putting everything back together, the engine will just crank and crank but will not start AT ALL, until you connect the fuel hose from the tank to the hose from the FI unit.....    :D

The Place / REM Sat 6/15 at GH
« on: June 09, 2019, 05:50:39 PM »
REM is back at GH this Sat June 15. Light breeze and partly cloudy with temps in the high 70s to low 80s. The layouts have been a lot of fun, so it should be another great day of racing.

Plan to go do some laps tomorrow at Milestone. I'll be there around 9:30, parking by the parts store.

The Place / Racing with SwapMoto Race Series at GH today, 6/2
« on: June 02, 2019, 07:47:15 PM »
So decided to go do some racing with SwapMoto Race Series at GH today. man, what a big turnout. Great program, as everything ran very smooth and most races were done by 3. What really amazed me was the amount of little racers, by that I mean 4-6 years old on pw/xr 50s. This group has 22 kids in it  and they were racing on the whole front part of the REM track, which has some nice elevation changes.

Since I really liked the REM layout, I opted to race on the REM track instead of the main. I raced 4 motos, and actually finished all of them without any mishaps. Fun times racing with the youngsters in the beginner and amateur classes. Yeah, was a blast, but there were no beginners to be found  . Still, we were all in the same speed group, so it was awesome dicing with the group.
 Fun times for sure.

BTW, if you have not ridden with SwapMoto Race Series (formelly Transworld) because you think that it will be a long day, they have that covered. 2 tracks are always used, so most of the time you are done by 3. Today I believe there were 30 races, but because of the 2 tracks being used, I was done by around 2:15 or so.

The Place / Bryan Friday down on Sat
« on: June 02, 2019, 07:22:24 PM »
Our fellow Proride member "Friday" was at REM this Sat, but was involved in a first turn crash where he got hit and bounced off the track. Did get some damage.

As per Bryan's post on FB
"Bruising of the right lung, slight puncture in right lung, two fractured ribs, AC separation of shoulder, fractured right scapula."

Ouch. Hope for a speedy and full recovery Bryan.

The Place / Another day of racing with REM this last Sat 6/1
« on: June 02, 2019, 07:17:14 PM »
I do race at Sat REM often as it is a great club and I actually enjoy the GH REM track the majority of the time. But even when the layout is not what I would prefer, I still manage to have a good time, even when I find that one mud pit that no one else even comes near except for me doing a swan dive into it..

This last Sat the layout was awesome IMO, and I had a great time. The track was fast and got normal GH rough in the usual areas, the program ran without any major hitches.

The Place / REM at Cahuilla Vet this Sat 6/8
« on: June 02, 2019, 06:55:14 PM »
REM will be racing at Cahuilla on the vet track this coming Saturday, June 8th.

This will be the last REM race at Cahuilla for 2019 according to the REM race schedule. So if you want to race with a great club but did not want to make the trip to GH if you live in the SD area, here's your chance to check REM out.

The Place / Milestone tomorrow - Thursday
« on: May 29, 2019, 10:30:13 AM »
Planning on going to try and get some laps in on the main and see if I can hang  It is a fun track, but I'm lacking in the jump department these days, so I have to see if I have the &%ls to do some of them. Main issue is that the youngsters flying over my head just scare the crap out of me, so I'm too wigged out to concentrate on what I'm there for. But on the other hand, lets see how many are still even riding when they get my age

Trying to get ready for the OTMX/OTHG race on the main this Sunday.

So who's in?

REM is back on this coming Sat 6/1/19
