RIP Roostmagnet
« on: January 18, 2024, 04:34:42 PM »
Dang,  from his fb page,

Hello Friends of Bill Hays, this is his sister Toni Saarinen.
It's with a heavy heart I share the news that Bill passed away about 2am this morning, just 12 days after being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.
He did not want to share this with anyone while he was alive and he did not want a pity party of any kind.
We talked about all his accomplishments and he said he had no regrets, he'd done most everything he'd wanted to do. It was just ending way too soon.
He was an instrument rated private pilot, owned the boat Triton for 20+ years, Scuba Diver, Off Road Racer, Skilled Drone Pilot and Photographer, Musician (and recently a singer on his last album) as well as being a Personal Injury Attorney primarily for OC Firemen and Policemen for 20+ years. I think he may have had a photographic memory.
We started 34 North Solutions together 3 years ago and he helped me learn aviation maps, FAA rules & regulations and pass my FAA Part 107 license. We teamed up with his 34 North Drones e-commerce store and I’m going to do my best to keep both of those alive.
He also said NO service, however, I’d like to create something in the semi near future where his friends can gather to share stories and tales about my particularly special, unique and accomplished brother.
Love you Billy ❤️ RIP xoxo 3/13/58 -1/18/24 💔❤️‍🩹❤️

Oh man, so sorry to hear  :(
I believe I have a couple of pics from my birthday track rental at AMP back in 2007.
I can understand why he would want to keep it to himself.  No one wants a pity party. I’ll give him props for that.
He was a good dude 👍

I became his pool guy through this board. He was fun to work with and be around, always positive. The guy was pretty amazing, his list of accomplishments is impressive. Good dude who loved his dogs. 12 days notice is a pretty harsh reality to fathom. But from my time hanging around him I'm sure whatever's next after this life, he's handling it in stride. One more reminder that everyday's a gift. RIP Bill ! Until we meet again.

YUP.  GET A DIAGNOSIS WITHOUT KNOWING ANYTHING AT ALL... GONE IN A FEW MONTHS OR LESS.  SEEN IT HAPPEN, IT's A SHITTY DEAL ANY WAY YOU CUT IT.
