Good stuff!  :o   Love seeing old footage of that place.  Had a lot of good times there..

How much old footage do you still have?

Never said I had any old footage.  :?

It was much better than that video of you and Phil tho  :)

Oh well. Thought I could help. :?

Jeez man, I can never tell when or if you're just fuking with me, Jmac  :o
As much as I wish I did, I have no vids from the late 70's of Saddleback or Escape Country.
I do still have a bunch from 1989 to 1993 of CMC and GFI from Glen Helen, Perris Raceway, Sunrise, LACR, Ascot, Carlsbad, Barona Oaks, Mammoth and some amateur sx races... need to get those converted to flash drives sometime soon before they fall apart...

 It's cool. I remember you posting about your tapes years ago. I started working with film archives and libraries over a year ago. Mostly old film scanning but we work with a bunch of old video formats as well. Just digitized over 3,000 hours of vhs for 2 documentaries...parts will be cleaned up then upscaled to 4K. I'm starting to put a deal together for the old socal MX races. Pretty much exactly what you have...so I can help with your tapes when it gets closer. I talked a little about it with Zeke when I met him a few weeks ago.

Very cool.  I bought a brand new old stock VCR player so I can go through them and pick a few out to do.  I'm going to order the cable it takes to hook it up newer tv's. It only came with the old school color coded RCA cables  :?

Sounds great. Don't play them more than you have to. I'm trying to put something together that there won't be any cost. We picked up a few more "New/old stock" rack-mounted decks so they'll be taken care of. I had to "Bake" a few of the tapes that were in pretty bad shape. So if some of your tapes act weird, just put them aside and we have that option. If you know anyone that has old film, I can help with that as well.

Did some Daytona 200 films. One of the reels had qualifying sessions. My friend who brought it over was one of the guys in the Novice gate (He came back to win the 200 a few years later). The film was probably 60 years old. His mother shot it on 8mm and it's mostly him. Very cool aluminum hand-made fairings. We transferred it to HD. Cool thing was that it was the first time he ever saw it.
