Aftermarket Exhaust Systems?
« on: January 18, 2012, 08:36:09 PM »
Well..I never put a system on my '06 CRF450, just kept re-packing the stocker and never had a problem, but I'd like to put something on the new KX450F, gotta keep up with the Joneses!!

I'm hearing of people having FMF's, PC's and DR.D's break at the welds. Zman has been talking about MRD's and I haven't really heard any bad on Yosh?

Which brand will get decent performance gains, look better than stock and not break the bank!!?

I appreciate the feedback!! :D

I have an FMF 4.1 system on my 2010 KX450f and LOVE IT. Ti Megabomb/Ti 4.1 RCT combo along with the hard pack map... really smooth instead of really abrupt, like the stock set-up.

Well Dave at MRD does not make KTM pipes so i went with a Yosh
I have dealt with the customer service and it was 10 times better then FMF's
Also the pipe has been holding up great!

i had a FMF 4.1 on my RMZ450, it didnt fit out of the box and it took ages pissing around getting it setup.  I then got the Yosh and it is so well made its unbelievable the quality and craftsmanship.  With the Yosh you get the rubber mounts, a exhaust plug and its held together with springs to stop the vibes.  Yosh were nice to deal with, FMF were no help with their no fit pipe.

ive ran PC and FMF on my smokers, and the PC were pretty poor quality and always cracked at the silencer mounts.

Id second MRD. If ya bend the thing up, he'll fix it once for ya for free I think. Dave's a super nice guy too.

I used to run Pro Circuit on my Kawis but got tired of having them re-welded over and over again. Switched to DRD and haven't had an issue since. I LOVE what the DRD did for my 2011 KX250F (More bottom end).

Having used several of the exhaust systems out there, I would say that the Yoshimura pipes are the best quality/fit of the ones that we used. I would hit up Don @ Rocket Pipes, his pipes have came a long way and look like they would be a good choice.

Have a ti5 on my 12 and really like it. Super quiet and the power is alot easier for me to manage now. The green and black couplers don't try and rip your arms out of their sockets anymore.
