soo a question about the spray paint trick..

how much do i use? and do i spray it in the grip or on the bar itself?
im having trouble finding what works.

i doubted also until my last grip change... i grabbed an old can of paint and tried it... so smooth!  much easier to get the grip on and position it correctly before it sets... they haven't moved a bit since... when I use glue they seem to rotate after a while but not now!

the only bad thing is it takes longer for them to dry and set... but if you do it the night before riding with them, there's no problem.

try it!

I have use brake cleaner for years. a 3-4 sec shot of brake clean in the grip, slide it on (it will be real slippery at 1st, then in about 5 min its on there good.  I always add safety after just to be safe, but  it's great.

Like 99 cents at Wal Mart.  One tube'll do a set of grips and you can hit the track 5 minutes after installation.

Gotta use a wire-wheel to get the old glue off the bars, though.

Protaper glue. Make sure when you clean the bar that there is no residue left on it from the solvents you used to clean it. That will cause the glue to not work and your grip to spin.

Just replaced my grips. Dayum glue works to good. Had a hell of a time getting my old grips off. Never spun and no safety wire.

Used protaper glue on some new grips. Worked like a champ, safety wired up with no slip.
Thanx again for all the replies.

I've always used Liquid Nails. Never had a problem with that stuff.

I use 3M super 77 spray adhesive.

Works great for me without wire.

But don't even try to use the old hard stock Honda grips - those don't glue easily..not sure about other manufacturers.

spray paint
I tried it and works like a charm
you do have to add liberal amount and rotate it a few times and leave it alone
I also clean the bars real good , if there is anything
on the bar ill even use sandpaper
Clean the inside of the grip real good also

Several years ago I tried spray paint on Spider grips- they disintegrated before I got them lined up on the bars.
