I got 2nd in the 500 Cup class in the first moto after starting in last place because my bike wasn't in gear. On the last lap I caught up to Enticknapp (whom was in the expert class), and the first place rider in my class was just 50 feet in front of him, so I most likely would have passed them both if the race was just 1 lap longer, but I'm quite happy with 2nd all things considered.
In my open class moto I got a mid pack start, then got roosted in the goggles and could barely see, so I slowed way down and several people got by me by the time I was able to remove my my tear off, but luckily I passed them all back and ended up in 2nd.
I only did 1/2 a lap of the second 500 moto then pulled off because it was way too muddy for my limited skill. I didn't even try the second race of my open class moto for the same reason.
It was just bad luck with the weather unfortunately. Even OTMX cancelled our recently scheduled races at Perris and Elsinore due to rain.
PS - Are you going to the upcoming AHRMA race at Chaney Ranch on 5-19? I'm going if I have time. Never been there before, but my friends that raced that event last year told me it was a lot of fun.
