Im having trouble getting the grips to  stick really good to my bars especially on the clutch side.

Ive tried Scotts grip glue as well as Renthal grip glue (using a Scott grip) and it goes on good and tight, but after

one moto it slowly gets twisted around. Safety wired it with no help. Any other tricks Im missing?

I cleaned the bar real good with carb/ brake cleaner to get the glue off before I put the new grip on.

WTF?
Did he ever find an answer?

Spray paint & ProTaper pillow tops
risk Racing has just put out a new kind of grip that comes with some sort of adhesive strip to install their grips with. Seen a guy put a set on a few races back, they went on real easy and them suckers were on there good - not sure how the grips have held up yet though.

About 26 years ago and Long before I had a clue how to work on bikes, my friend asked me to go with him to the races and be his mechanic for the day. We had both just turned 16 so it was exciting to go without our parents. When he asked me to put on the the new grips, the only thing I could find was 409. They seemed to go on well and they weren't spining.
When the gate droped on the Shadow Glen track a Indian Dunnes, My buddy had the best start of his life but when he got to the first corner, I saw his left hand fly off. At first I thought he was giving a victory hand pump for the holeshot till I saw him go straight through the corner and crash. when I ran over to see if he was ok, all I saw was that grip still in his hand.

Till this day, every time a mechanic conversation comes up, I have to hear how I screwed up his best start ever. He now works at FMF, so you can imagine how often that comes up.

Too much glue - use a little less , it should almost go off before you get it on , you gotta work fast however . Try to ease up on the death grip too .

Just realized why my clutch side use to eventually spin. Started using less Renthal glue and of course safety wire, problem solved.

WTF?

Start with a clean bar. Wrap it with cloth tape. Apply Gorilla glue. Twist on grip. Wipe off excess glue. Let it sit over night. Done.
Tip.
I remove my throttle tube when changing out that side. Keeps you from gluing it to the bar if glue seeps in.
and yes Ive done it....PITFA to clean off.
