That was beyond typical Bam Bam, At the speed and direction he was going when was he planning to turn?

Maybe when he got to the snack bar.

Why did Jett turn down so early in the race? Stew tried that at Anaheim and the Dunge did the same thing. 2 different riders, same result. Can't blame only 1 guy. IMO

Even if Jett had been 3 feet farther out, it appears that Barcia still would have T boned him, but I agree, it was an unnecessary move by Jett as well irregardless.

Almost a head on instead of a t-bone....  yikes.  Risky turning down that hard with 15 guys on you still.  Glad he rode away from it.  Looked like a collarbone or shoulder at first.

Exactly. Jett never even saw Barcia. And he really couldn't carry the corner much further out because Hunter was maybe only 3-4 feet to the outside.

I dont think Jett intentionally turned down that hard. I think he spun the rear tire a bit and it over-steered him down there, but even if it hadn't, Barcia still would have hammered him.

Barcia is clearly nervous for his job. Someone has been fender testing and it is obvious it has not gone unnoticed.

Several comments are regarding Jett turning down early in the corner.

Where was Barcia trying to go? (Assuming he wasn't T boning him on purpose) He was still going almost dead straight in the middle of the corner. That corner was just short of 180 degrees, and Jett had already completely changed direction.

That was brutal  :o

Barcia stuffed Friese in the corner before and was expecting a to take a hit.  Sucks for JL, but good for shaking up the points. Also sucks for my Fantasy score  :x

That's a heavy turndown for like turn 5 off the start with 3/4 of the pack is bunched behind you. I doubt he'll do that again on the first lap.

Here's a reply from Jett Lawrence also, plus AC and Mosiman injury update.

It includes the message from Barcia in zman's post above.
